General:

  1. How long have you been in business? The Medical Company has been around since 2002.
  2. How did it start? It started by supplying medical services to fire and police departments. The business expanded quickly, the municipalities asked them to take over their entire medical and security business.

School Physicals:

  1. What happens if you find something wrong? We talked to the parent first to keep them informed of the findings. We the offer to contact the athletes family physician or pediatrician to discuss the findings with them.
  2. How much does it cost? The average cost is about $35.00 per athlete, but does depend on where the school is located and how many exams there will be. This service is cash only.
  3. What kind of waiver is signed prior to the exam? The parent or legal guardian waiver is signed prior to the exam.
  4. Can they give Tetanus shots during the exam? Yes!
  5. How does the process occur? The coach is responsible for coordinating the time and the place of exams.
  6. How long does the exam process take? If all the paperwork is filled out appropriately, it should only take 10 – 15 minutes.
  7. How many physicals can you do in an hour? It depends on what the need is. We can do up to 15 an hour per trailer. We do have the option to bring more then one trailer.
  8. If my son is on the school team you are doing physicals for, and his sibling goes to another school, can he/she also get their sports physical at the same time? Yes, just as long as it does not conflict with any policies of the school we are doing physicals for.

Drug Collection and Education:(DOT vs non-DOT)

  1. Can you come to our school and deliver Alcohol and Drug education? Yes.
  2. Are you able to give us the information to qualify for the Ohio BWC drug free work place? Yes.
  3. What is an Ohio BWC drug free work place? It includes five components – a drug-free work place policy, Supervisor training, employee education, employee assistance, and drug testing.
  4. How do you perform Drug Testing? We do drug collection on-site. We usually will collect a minimum of 10 specimens at a time.
  5. Can you perform these services to our Bus Drivers? Yes. All our collectors are DOT certified drug collectors. The Medical Director and all physicians are Medical Review Officers.
  6. Do you take blood or urine? The drug screens are urine drug screens. Alcohol test are through a breath analyzer machine.
  7. I take medication, can it affect the test? Some medication effect the test. If you are taking medication that was given to you as a prescription, it will result as negative. You must prove that the prescription is yours and is current.
  8. Does my employer get to know that I’m taking medication? No.

Security:

  1. How do I get a background check on an employee? You have the employee sign a background check release, and fill out a form along with copies of their SS card, driver’s license, and birth certificate, and fax it to our confidential fax machine.
  2. What kind of background check can I get on an employee? Social Security Verification, Financial Checks, License Verification, FBI Background checks, and Sexual Predator checks.
  3. How is the information reported? The information is reported to the Human Resource Contact in your organization by mail within a few days.
  4. How often should I perform background checks on my employees? It is recommended that you perform checks once a year and anytime you see a significant behavior change in the employee.
